In Offshore Rig, Client wanted to monitor data from Caterpillar 3516 Engine to SCADA in one of their CSD (Cutter Suction Dredger). Caterpillar Engine communicates over SAE J1939 protocol and SCADA communicates over Modbus TCP protocol. Hence they need intermediate device which can communicate over two different protocols – SAE J1939 and Modbus TCP.
Our Solution: Axis has supply one SAE J1939 to Modbus TCP Slave Gateway to communicate Caterpillar Engine to SCADA. Axis has successfully commissioned around 24 Engine parameters (like Engine speed, Load, Running Hours, Total Fuel Uses, Different Temperatures, Different Pressures, Battery Voltage and many more) in Modbus TCP through SAE J1939 to Modbus TCP Converter.
