PCB Layout Design Engineer will be responsible for translating circuit schematics into manufacturable PCB layouts while ensuring signal integrity, mechanical compatibility, and industry standards compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Create PCB layouts based on schematics provided by hardware engineers.
Handle component placement, routing, and stack-up definition considering electrical and mechanical constraints.
Design multi-layer PCBs with high-speed, high-density, and mixed-signal designs.
Ensure compliance with DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFT (Design for Test) guidelines.
Work closely with hardware, mechanical, and production teams to ensure PCB layout accuracy and fit.
Optimize trace routing for signal integrity, EMI/EMC, thermal performance, and impedance control.
Generate fabrication (Gerber/ODB++) and assembly files, drawings, and BOMs for manufacturing.
Collaborate with PCB vendors and CMs for layout reviews and production support.
Participate in PCB bring-up, design reviews, and provide revision support.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's/Master's degree in Electronics, Electrical, or related field.
3+ years of hands-on experience in PCB layout design.
Proficiency with industry-standard EDA tools like Altium Designer, KiCAD,Allegro.
Experience with multi-layer PCBs, high-speed routing, differential pairs, impedance control, and power planes.
Understanding of PCB manufacturing processes and materials.
Familiar with EMI/EMC layout practices and IPC standards (IPC-2221, IPC-7351).
Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and 3D models (STEP files).
Strong documentation skills and attention to detail.
Good to have skills:
Knowledge of SI/PI simulation tools is a plus.
Understanding of IPC Class II/III workmanship standards.
