Passive Cooled Shelter

WHAT IS PASSIVE COOLING???

Passive cooling technology is a building design approach that creates indoor thermal comfort without energy consumption.

The environmental conditions are useful to generate indoor thermal comfort.

In the desert area where night and day temperature difference is more.

Onsite energy will utilize in the cooling process in the passive cooling system.

PRINCIPLE AND WORKING OF PASSIVE COOLING

This passive cooling system consisting of a memory heat unit and two heat exchangers.

1. During day time (T ambient > T inside) —— Inside Circuit activated

Inside heat is absorbed by the internal heat exchanger and stored in the memory heat unit.

2. During the Night-time (T ambient < T Memory unit) —— Outer circuit activated

Stored heat will be rejected in the ambient via an external heat exchanger.

3. During day time (T ambient > T Memory unit)

Heat transfer is stopped due to the diode nature of the system.

The behavior of the system is shown in the below graph when

(MAX & MIN Ambient Temperature day/night = 55/30°C)
